Protecting Badgers Across East Kent
About the East Kent Badger Group
The East Kent Badger Group (EKBG) is an independent volunteer organisation dedicated to the conservation and protection of badgers across East Kent. We rely entirely on the support of our members, local farmers, landowners and concerned members of the public.
We operate local groups across the areas of Tenterden, New Romney, Faversham, Dover and Canterbury.
What We Do
Our activities cover the full range of badger conservation work:
- Erecting badger gates to protect setts and manage badger movement on farms
- Providing free, confidential advice on any badger-related problem
- Working with planning authorities to protect setts threatened by development
- Supporting police with wildlife crime investigations and law enforcement
- Arranging lectures, talks, demonstrations and guided badger watches
- Monitoring local badger populations and conducting simple research
- Educating schools, community groups and the general public about badger welfare
- Dealing with rogue badgers causing problems for landowners and residents
Membership of EKBG is open to anyone who has an interest in the conservation and protection of the badger. If you are interested in badgers and concerned for their future in Kent, we would love to have you with us.
